Hawkstowe Picnic Area

Located in the Plenty Gorge Parklands area, nestled along Plenty River, you’ll find Hawkestowe Picnic area. Surrounded by majestic Red Gums, this spot is excellent if you’d like to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. You’ll also find LePage Cottage here, a bluestone and brick homestead that offers a little slice of Victorian heritage. Bring along a picnic, stroll around the picturesque lakes and soak up some summer sun on the jetty. Who knows, maybe the friendly kangaroos will even come to say hello!

Quarry Hills Bushland Park

Future residents of Riverhills will be familiar with the beauty of Quarry Hills Bushland Park, located at the doorstep of our community. With three walking tracks, there are plenty of ways to discover this geologically significant parkland. If you prefer your adventures on two wheels, you can also bring along your bike. Wildlife is abundant here and the views are spectacular, so it’s an excellent spot for budding photographers!

Bundoora Park Farm 

Home to a variety of activities for young and old, this spot has everything you need for a great family day out. Come along to meet some friendly farm animals and take a ride to see kangaroos and emus. You can also get a taste of what life was like in Australia in the early 20th century at the Heritage Village. Bundoora Park Farm is also running a great drop off, pick up holiday program for kids this summer. Children will get to be a farmer for the day, helping to feed the animals and even milk the goats! Activities also include pony rides, baking, and arts and crafts much more.
