If you love spending time outdoors and have a passion for better understanding your local environment, then you might want to consider becoming one of the City of Whittlesea’s first Nature Stewards!
Nature Stewards is a 10-week program for adults run by Outdoors Victoria to help you discover more about your local environment, meet likeminded people and find ways to get outdoors and volunteer.
Participants will get to learn about local ecosystems, climate change, Indigenous heritage sites and land management practices while visiting locations like Quarry Hills Regional Parkland and Plenty Gorge. You’ll also learn about plant names and families, caring for native animals, the water cycle, and the many ways that connecting with nature benefits our wellbeing.
The program will run from 24 April to 3 July, including four Saturday field trips. To become one of the City of Whittlesea’s first Nature Stewards, visit www.outdoorsvictoria.org.au/nature-stewards and apply today. Applications close 31 March.
