This is one for the ladies! Women throughout Whittlesea are invited to attend the annual Teeyan Da Mela festival in Epping on Sunday 4 August. The event encourages women to celebrate colour, culture and femininity with festivities set to include dance music and food!
The event will be filled with folk dance performed by local talent, a variety of food stalls to satisfy your taste buds and market stalls from local businesses including Henna tattoo by Fascino Beauty & Browbar. Of course, there will also be a live DJ on hand to liven things up, providing great tunes to enjoy on the open dance floor.
The Teeyan Da Mela is a traditional Punjabi celebration focused on getting women to break their daily routine during the Indian monsoon season. From its origins in India, Epping’s Teeyan Da Mela will be a truly multicultural affair with women from all backgrounds expected to come along.
More than 1,000 women are expected to attend this year’s fabulous festival, tickets are free however registrations are required. The festival will run from 1 pm to 6 pm at Epping Memorial Hall.
