A heritage of plenty

The prosperous hills of Wollert have long featured in the broader history of Melbourne. Originally a sheep-raising town, from the 1850s onwards Wollert was home to a significant dairy industry that supplied the Melbourne market well into the 1960s.

Wollert’s contributions to Melbourne continue today in small-scale grazing farms, and in the supply of essential building materials. Part of the City of Whittlesea, its natural beauty and proximity to Melbourne has seen Wollert become one of the north’s most desired localities.
