From 1 August, the 1.6km section of Bindts Road that runs parallel to our community (between Harvest Home Road and Lehmanns Road) will be permanently closed to through traffic, following a Council decision.

The stretch of road has been temporarily closed since March 2021, with community and stakeholder consultation showing support for its permanent closure by surrounding residents, Victoria Police as well as utility and service providers.

The land will now be revegetated by Council, with long term plans yet to be determined.

“With the completion of Saltlake Boulevard, this section of the road is no longer required for access to any properties, with much safer and smoother options now available to road users,” Administrator Chris Eddy said.
