Transport Upgrades for Wollert

Future residents of Riverhills, families in particular, will be glad to hear that a new dedicated school bus and an extension to a current route has been added for Wollert.

Member for Thomastown Bronwyn Halfpenny announced that Route 357 will be extended to run closer to Edgars Creek Secondary College from January 2020 – making it easier for more families and students to get to school.

A new school special bus also began on 19 August, giving students at Edgars Creek Secondary College a direct connection via bus for the first time. The service will run one morning and one afternoon service each day, with the service beginning at the intersection of Pine Park Drive and Saltlake Boulevard. This is an easy 12-minute walk for any future residents within the Riverhills community attending the school, or just a 2-minute drive.

The buses used will have low floors, which will allow students with specific mobility requirements to easily use the service.

School special bus service timetables will be made available for students by the school and Dyson buses by request.

Ms Halfpenny said the school bus and route 357 extension would make it easier for people to get around Wollert.

“This is the first step in delivering a long-term solution for these students, giving them and their families more options to get to school,” she said.
