Here at Riverhills, our kids are spoilt for things to do. If the 400 hectare Quarry Hills Bushland Park isn’t enough, there are dozens of parks and playgrounds throughout Whittlesea to explore.
But the latest addition, just 17 minutes away on Morang Drive in Mill Park, has been designed especially for kids who may not be able to take full advantage of other neighbourhood play amenities.
Recently opened by Whittlesea Council, the fully-fenced all-abilities playspace was thoughtfully developed with community consultation, and has the tick of approval from local agencies who work with people living with disabilities.
The park features multiple fun zones guaranteed to delight kids of all ages and abilities, including a water play area, a multi-level accessible climbing tower, a full-sized basketball court, lawns and shelters.
The double flying fox with an accessible seat is sure to be a hit, along with the in-ground trampolines, swings and slide. There’s also a quiet and sensory play zone, which is a retreat designed to encourage calm and controlled exploration of its play elements.
And while the kids are playing, parents and carers can take advantage of the barbecue or picnic facilities.
So if your tribe is looking for something different to do these school holidays, give the all-abilities playspace a try. They won’t be disappointed!
