Celebrate the diversity and talent of Whittlesea and its people at the upcoming Community Festival! This homage to the local region will bring entertainment, food and lots of free children’s activities to Lalor on Sunday, 17 March. The event promises fun for all ages and presents an excellent opportunity for community members to celebrate all they have to share.
Time to Celebrate!
The festival will be bringing the City of Whittlesea Public Gardens to life between 11am and 5pm. Roving entertainment, a showcase of multicultural performances, market stalls and more will run throughout the day for all to enjoy.
This year’s festival also has a new look, as it focuses on celebrating both the old and new of the community. According to Mayor Lawrie Cox, the festival brings together the many voices of Whittlesea to celebrate diversity and unity.
The Whittlesea Reconciliation Group will represent the oldest culture of the area. They will be providing entertainment as well as an informative program on the day, designed to encourage greater cultural understanding. And Whittlesea’s newest multicultural members will also play an integral part, providing cultural performances and food stalls for all to enjoy.
There will also be an all-day free shuttle bus to ferry festivalgoers from Thomastown train station and Pacific Epping Plaza.
The biggest community event on the City of Whittlesea calendar, this festival promises a jam-packed day of entertainment for young and old. Come along with friends and family and enjoy an immersive community experience that celebrates the area’s local spirit.
