Redleap Reserve Revamp: Have Your Say
Posted
25 February 2019
The grass is set to be greener at Redleap Recreation Reserve as Whittlesea Council prepares to upgrade the area. A master plan is currently being drafted and the community is encouraged to have their say on key features they’d like to see included.
Located in Mill Park, the reserve is one of the most popular in the Whittlesea area. Some recommendations already included in the draft master plan include a dog off-leash area, a new half basketball court, a range of fitness equipment, a bigger and better playground and much more. Overall, improvements to access, security and landscaping will benefit the area greatly, refreshing the park for community enjoyment.
There are a number of ways locals can have their say, either in person or online. The City of Whittlesea is hosting a pop-up session on Thursday 28 February at Redleap Playground from 3:30 – 6:30pm to discuss the issue. Here, locals can discuss plans for the reserve over a delicious sausage sizzle. Wizard Sim Sala Bim will make also be making an appearance, so feel free to bring along the kids, they’re sure to be entertained!
Feedback is also welcomed through council’s online survey, which will be open until Friday 15 March, via email or by having a conversation with a member of the Parks and Urban Design department over the phone.
What would you like to see included at Redleap Reserve, a water play area perhaps, or maybe additional picnic facilities? Be sure to give your feedback and get involved with this important community conversation.
